Performance Collaborations

I’ve been spinning fire for over four years now, but it wasn’t until my move to DC that brought a whole new meaning to my life as a fire performer. After moving to DC in December 2015 I quickly became engulfed in the fire community here and joined two troupes, Revolutionary Motions and Luminosa.

In March 2016 I joined Revolutionary Motions and we spent the next 4 months putting together a choreographed routine to audition to perform in Burning Man Conclave. Not only were we selected to perform in the Burning Man Conclave, but we also had the opportunity to perform as the openers for the TEDx Black Rock City.

In June 2016 Luminosa put on an amazing show at the Takoma Urban Park using fire arts to tell a story of a traveler making his way through the old west.

In November 2016 Revolutionary Motions brought a piece of the Playa to a black box theatre in DC and performed a show at the Anacostia Art Center.

Currently I am working on another performance with Revolutionary Motions to audition for Burning Man Conclave 2017! I am also performing locally in the area and lined up to perform at a few festivals in and around the DC area this summer.

Revolutionary Motion is a Washington, DC-based performance troupe dedicated to spreading the love of the fire arts. For the past four months we have trained, choreographed, and worked our craft as performers to deliver this piece that we hope to share with the entire playa at Burning Man 2016.

Emergence is the debut stage work from DC-based flow arts dance company Revolutionary Motion. Through the interactions of our props and bodies, we explore the conflicts and contradictions inherent in the meeting of the modern and ancient worlds. This is a recording of the concert we performed October 21-22 at the Anacostia Arts Center.
